How did Flyboat start?

With his experience in the front-end as well as back-end departments in the world of investments, the founder realized that startups have a unidimensional stake with investors.

Another issue that the founder felt was that startups are resistant to consulting. To educate startups for both, a 30-day training program was launched by the founder. To date, they have worked with about 160 startups.

Here is a quick overview

Market Penetration

When Flyboat started in 2018, the Indian startup scenario had just started booming. 2019 was the best year for the startup in terms of overall, holistic growth. During the pandemic, the growth matched the previous year but did not improve.

Market penetration is currently weaker than when it started due to the economy being on the brink of recession. The next 12-18 months are going to be tricky, feels the founder. Nonetheless, there are 60 startups approximately that Flyboat receives per year.

Flyboat Competition

Direct competitors for Flyboat are Pitch Kraft and Easy to Pitch. Regardless, the service model for Flyboat is stronger than the competitors, analyses the founder after taking their demo services. No other competitors are training their employees, they are outsourcing those services.

Sales Turnover

The cumulative sales turnover since the 4 years of operation of Flyboat is USD 120,000.

Expansion Plans

The founder, along with a developer, has been working on a funding platform, currently in its MVP stage. Due to form-based interfaces, the existing funding platforms do not deliver the correct information to the investors and that is why they refrain from using them as they are filled with poor startups. The idea is to overcome this issue.

The pitch process is also on its way to being made video-based. A one-screen and crisp interface would be provided that will avoid regular manual updates on reactions.

SWOT Analysis

The strength of the startup is its service model and its offerings.  Along with that, the founder’s referral network is also strong.

The weakness is payment miscommunications.

The opportunity is big as the startups that come to the team can be cross-sold to digital marketing teams or any other further assistance, along with the funding platform that the founder is working on. Also, there is always a way to disrupt how funding works.

The threat is recession possibility.
